From the first audit to live BIM projects - aligned with Kazakhstan's Construction Code
BIM (Building Information Modeling) is called TIMSO in Kazakhstan's regulations. Instead of scattered drawings, you work with a single digital model of the building that links geometry, properties, schedule and cost. Fewer clashes, less rework, transparent quantities and timelines.
Until recently, BIM in Kazakhstan was a competitive advantage. That's changing: the new Construction Code (No. 253-VIII, in force since July 1, 2026) replaced the 2001 law and made TIMSO part of an asset's life cycle. Digital requirements are stricter for state-funded and technically complex projects. Companies that start reshaping their processes now will meet the new requirements prepared rather than in a rush.
SD Soft is an official Autodesk partner in Kazakhstan. We'll pick the right licenses, help you upgrade from AutoCAD to the AEC Collection and implement BIM around your needs.
Autodesk AEC Collection
The core toolset for design and construction: Revit, Civil 3D, Navisworks, InfraWorks and more in one subscription. The best fit for full-scale BIM implementation.
→ AEC Collection
Autodesk Revit
The BIM core for buildings: architecture, structure and MEP in a single information model. The industry standard.
→ Revit
Autodesk Civil 3D
BIM for infrastructure and linear projects: roads, utilities, site plans, earthwork quantities.
→ Civil 3D
How we implement BIM - six stages
- Readiness audit. We assess your processes, software and team skills to understand where you're starting from. Without this, the plan would be detached from reality.
- Roadmap. We draw up a transition plan: disciplines, pilots, timeline and budget. Realistic, with no "we'll implement it in a month".
- Company BIM standard. We develop internal procedures, templates and model requirements (EIR/BEP). Without them, BIM turns into chaos.
- Training. We train your specialists in Revit, Civil 3D and related tools, on your own projects.
- Pilot project. We test the approach on a real project with a small team.
- Ongoing support. We stay with you as you scale, with support from our team in Almaty in Kazakh, Russian and English.
Our experience
BIM isn't a new direction for SD Soft. We train specialists at design and construction companies, run regular webinars on implementation and help teams move from 2D drafting to information models.
Our clients include major corporate companies in Kazakhstan across mining and metallurgy, property development, and transport and logistics. Out of respect for our agreements we don't disclose project details, but we're happy to discuss relevant experience during a consultation.

FAQ - common questions about BIM implementation
Where do we start with BIM?
With an audit. You need to understand current processes and the team's level, or the plan will be detached from reality. An audit gives you an honest starting point.
Is BIM mandatory in Kazakhstan?
The new Construction Code (in force since 01.07.2026) makes TIMSO part of an asset's life cycle, with stricter requirements for state-funded and technically complex projects. Exactly how it applies is defined by the TIMSO codes of practice.
We work in AutoCAD. Do we have to switch to Revit?
For full BIM, yes. Revit and the AEC Collection cover this. You can switch in stages, and we'll help with license upgrades and training.
